About us

Hair advice that
names its audience

Why this site exists, what you will find on it, and how it pays for itself.

What this site is for

Wow Hairstyles answers the question most hair content skips. Not “what styles exist” — there are a million galleries for that — but “which of them will actually suit you“.

What is hard to find anywhere is a straight answer about whether a bob works with your face shape, your texture, and the ten minutes you realistically have on a Tuesday morning. That gap is the whole reason this site exists.

The rule we write by

Every guide on this site names the hair it was written for. If a style does not work on fine hair, we say so in the guide about that style, not in a disclaimer at the bottom.

What you will find here

Everything published here falls into one of five groups.

  • Style ideas — curated looks organised by length, texture, colour and occasion, each with a note on who it suits and what it costs to keep.
  • Tutorials — step-by-step methods for styles you can do yourself, with the tools and the time each genuinely needs.
  • Decision guides — direct comparisons for when you are stuck between two options.
  • Interactive tools — calculators and quizzes that take your details and give you an answer about your hair rather than hair in general.
  • Product guides — honest assessments, including who should not buy a thing.

How we think about hair

Suitability beats trend

A style that is everywhere this season is not automatically a style that works on your hair. We will tell you when a popular look is a poor fit for fine hair, tight curls, or a growing-out phase, even when that is not what you were hoping to read.

Maintenance is part of the cost

A colour that needs a salon visit every six weeks is a different decision from one that grows out gracefully. Where we know the upkeep, we say so, including the ongoing time and money.

Every texture, every age

Hair content has a long habit of defaulting to one hair type and one age group. We cover straight through to 4C, fine through to coarse, teens through to sixty-plus, and we name the group a guide is written for rather than leaving you to work it out.

Who writes this

Content here is written and reviewed by [EDITOR_NAME], who edits the site and is accountable for what appears on it. Author details and credentials appear on each author page and at the top of every article.

Our full process — how guides are researched, how they are reviewed, how AI assistance is used, and how often we revisit published work — is set out in the editorial policy. We put it in writing because you should be able to check it.

How we make money

This site is funded by display advertising and affiliate commissions. If you buy something through a link here, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes which products we recommend or what we say about them, and the full explanation is in our affiliate disclosure.

Get in touch

Questions, corrections, partnership enquiries and press requests all go to the same place: the contact page. We do not publish an email address, so the form is the way in. We read everything and reply to what needs a reply.

If you have spotted a factual error, please tell us. We would much rather fix it than leave it standing.
